Hospitality industry vets bring 'low-key healthy' restaurant to East Austin

Mid-October will see the opening of a new East Austin restaurant with what the founders describe as 'low-key healthy' Texas fare. Harlan Scott and Cody Taylor, the names behind concepts like Cafe Josie, Valentino's in San Marcos, and Industry in San Marcos, are set to open a second location of Industry at 1211 E. Fifth St., Ste. 150 in just a few weeks.

Central Texas restaurant hospitality giants, Harlan Scott and Cody Taylor, are bringing Industry to East Austin in this month with a new location at 1211 E 5th St. Like their original location in San Marcos, the menu will offer an all day menu of “low key healthy” Texas fare including tacos, burgers, hearty salads, and house smoked meats and vegetables in a casual, counter service atmosphere with an expansive bar and Sunday brunch service.

Hospitality powerhouse duo Harlan Scott and Cody Taylor recently brought Industry to East Austin, which had their grand opening on October 22. Industry is located at 1211 E 5th St. Ste 150, Austin, TX, serving an all day menu of “low key healthy” Texas fare including tacos, burgers, hearty salads, and house smoked meats and vegetables in a casual, counter service atmosphere with an expansive bar and Sunday brunch service.

East Austin continues to transform and attract more local concepts. This week, there were two openings announced in the area. Café Josie veteran to open Industry. A “low key healthy” menu of tacos, burgers, salads, smoked meats and vegetables — that is the vision for a new restaurant called Industry. The restaurant is slated to open Oct. 22, and is operated by Harlan Scott and Cody Taylor, who have worked in the restaurant industry for years. The 4,500-square-foot restaurant is at 1211 E. Fifth St. Suite 150., alongside many local eateries and cafes such as Hopdoddy Burger Bar to Easy Tiger, Fukumoto, Ramen Tatsu-Ya and others.

Texas-inspired restaurant Industry opening second location in East Austin this fall

San Marcos restaurant Industry is opening a second location in Austin this fall. Industry is owned by Harlan Scott and Cody Taylor, who named their restaurant as an homage to those working in the service industry. Scott and Taylor describe their expansive menu as 'low-key healthy' with Texas-influenced dishes all made from scratch, such as smoked chicken tacos and green chile queso. The restaurant will have 30 draft beers, wine and cocktails. Their counter-service kitchen will have coffee and breakfast in the morning and stay open late. Industry will open in East Austin in mid-October at 1211 E. Fifth St. Ste 150
